Duality

Duality

A Poem by Sumo

Everything I do I think, you should be here
Every voice, I wish it was you I hear

Your the air I need to breathe
The water that fills my sea

The light that brightens my heart
That keeps my soul from being dark

The noise that breaks up my silence
The woman who created great moments

You controlled the anger I have inside
And provided a place for joy to reside

You healed wounds thought to be permanent
Reminding me those times are no longer pertinent

With you, I could finally be myself and let loose
Finally aware no longer confused

You were my other half, the rest of me
My want, my desire and my need

Eyes mean nothing, with nothing to see
Lungs mean nothing, with nothing to breathe

Joy means nothing, without a little pain
Grass can't grow without the rain

You were my other half, meant for me
Like a tree that began as a seed

My heart now barren, withered and gone
No moon to set and no sun at dawn

Everything in life useless without the other
This one day you too will discover
