All Gone

All Gone

A Poem by Sumo

Sometimes the good you do, does you no good
Sometimes it hurts just to stand where you stood

Everywhere I look all I see is you
Everytime I look in the mirror, all I see is a fool

I gave so much of myself, there's nothing left
Evidently it wasn't enough, I guess

No man will ever love you as much as me
That I know, that I truly believe

No matter how much I hurt, it's your loss
I'll find myself eventually at the cross

I may live lonely forever but I've known true love
While you pretended it'll be that feeling you'll only dream of

I don't know that I'll ever recover
From losing my best friend and lover

I thought I knew how emptiness felt
Feeling at first it was I who failed

I know better now, I gave my all
It was you who decided to fall

A time will come you'll realize what's lost
Unfortunately my heart was the cost

I have no faith, nor hope
It takes all I have just to cope

As I said many times, you'll always be my last
No one else will be able to erase our past

My heart will always belong to you
My ex best friend, my one true
