Giving In

Giving In

A Poem by Sumo

I used to look deep into your real eyes
Not knowing two years later you'd realize
That you'd rather believe in real lies

You left without even saying bye
Leaving me, struggling to get by
True love, lost. That you can't buy

Only emptiness inside remains
Happiness replaced with pain
Sanity I hope to regain

Emotionally shattered, I'm broken
Mostly silent, no words are spoken
Wishing for eternal sleep, unawoken

Negativity consumes me
No faith left for what could be
Time will tell, you'll see

There's a power to anger
A madness, creating danger
Feeling almost gangster

Slowly I begin to embrace the rush
Thoughts that would make most men blush
This is what happens when push comes to shove

Self preservation, natural instinct
I no longer care what you think
Suicide, you put me on the brink

Just strong enough to suffer
I've lost my soul mate and lover
There will be no more, no other

Time to live up to my gender
Collecting numbers, becoming a pretender
Goodbye morals, I surrender
