How many more times, till you decide it's enough
When will we be able to, not make this so rough How many more times will you let yourself down You're pulling us under and I don't want us to drown How many more times will I hear this is the last one Only to see its the lies that's just begun How many more times must our lives revolve around a drink It's time to make that change, don't you think How many more times must you scrape up your body Because everytime isn't enough, oddly We should thirst for the Lord like you thirst for a taste But until it's beaten, each day is just a waste Opportunities to glorify God, lost to worldly desire We have a foundation without the structure we require A blank slate, waiting to be built upon Until then you're merely alcohols pawn It's painful to see that the bottom has not been found But know, regardless I will still be around You keep being shown this is God's path He's giving you obvious signs he's here to last Think of the latest, the salt and pepper shaker Yet another hint from our maker Be humble and seek whatever help you need Be hungry for his word and use it to feed Every promise, every word you speak I should trust to be true Just as each time I say that I love you I should never have doubt that you have our best interest at heart With each obstacle there should only be one stop and one start I hope one day soon, what you need will come your way All i can do till then is continue to pray My love for you will never fade They'll stay as true as the vows I made We will move past this eventually, once and for all For with God, no obstacle is too big or too small © 2016 Sumo |
