On The Edge

On The Edge

A Poem by Sumo

Feeling like my life is in the balance and I need to tip the scale
The one path I don't want to take is the one that leads me to hell

Tired of tallying up all the losses
And carrying all my sins on my crosses

Hanging by a thread, straining to keep my grip
I feel my hands straining not to slip

My decisions include more than just myself
At risk is our spiritual health

I do my best with what affects my family
Even the times they can't stand me

We were brought together for a reason you and me
It wasn't meant to cause misery

There's a purpose, growth as one for greater things
A never ending love, symbolized by our wedding rings

I beg for a hand, like the day we wed
I need you like I need my daily bread

Understanding and supportive, willing to do what's right
Going to bed in love each and every night

Waking up to another day full of promise
Reassuring me wholeheartedly we got this

I rely on the strength you have that I lack
Knowing you'll always have my back

I know a life without seems like an impossibility
But with children and marriage comes great responsibility

You can only ignore it and damage it for so long
Because one day you may not be able to right that wrong

Words get said and actions not meant are done
Irreversible harm like the bullet from a gun

These words I write amongst many from my heart
As I pray none of our struggles will tear us apart

Please, realize there's change that needs to come
Know God has his plan for us and thy will be done

The end sounds good but it doesnt make sense since thy applies to the addressee - so their will be done - not God's - it should be 'His will be done'.
Overall I like this.

Thank you, I see your point but wanted to keep it as it is in the Bible "Thy will be done".

It would still have had Biblical overtones with the phrase I suggested ...and ...made sense
