Change

Change

A Poem by Jimmy Deadman
"

Accepting who I am.

"
Nothing's stopping you from changing
Why the same thing all the time
This is it for me, I'm aging
In this world that I call mine
Searching through the deepest caverns
Looking high into the sky
Nothing's lost but something's broken
Repairs are useless, We're out of time

If I died today, I'm sorry but it wouldn't change
Sometimes I barely feel alive
If I live to see the day when nothing happens, nothing stays
Nothing grounds us like a life taken away
For what it's worth, if you died
I couldn't bring myself to cry
I'd miss nothing but time
Yet you're alive to hear me say
These words unpacked and here to stay
I miss my life

Why the long face, what's the matter
Life is short, well, what the f**k
I'd break some glass under a ladder
If I'd collapse from the bad luck
Stop and think with me again
No use talking, I won't listen
I see the goal, is this the end
Well, we were fooled
It's just the intermission

If I died today, would I look back and wish I'd stayed
Would something change, would it be different
Live, love, laugh at me
What kind of sorrow can you see
Poetic words won't save us now
I saw the whole world die today
No one was spared, no one was saved
No one was left to see the changes that were made
Keeping up was just a tool
Did I forget the golden rule
No one's happy, no one's sad
Nothing's good and nothing's bad
