Otherworld

Otherworld

A Poem by Audrey Wynters
"

Another poem in the Silent Hill category.

"
Water flows in thick rivulets
It washes down the rust and decay
The siren dies off, its scream fades
The imprint remains like a negative photo
Far away more voices rise up
Unheard by nothing, felt by all
Amidst the chorus, an unending silence
It lurks behind all other sound
Waiting for its moment, it hunts
Metal creaks and moans
A gurney sits derelict by a chasm of darkness
Waiting at the precipice to be swallowed by its gaping maw
The act lasts for an untold amount of time
An eternity to all those trapped within
This world is pain wrapped in sorrow
Slowly though, it fades away
White washed by a rising mist
It creeps back down to places dark
It waits, it sleeps
The unending silence

Wow, very insightful. I love your imagery and the end-of-the world feel this poem has to it.
