Woman

Woman

A Poem by Raylene

I am a woman.
Most my age are getting ready.
For marriage and little ones.

I however do not want to settle down.
My mother always ask if I'm with someone.
I say no.
I am not alone in this.

I am just unique.
I am young yet wise.
I have humor but will not laugh at everything.
If I want something I go get it.
If I have an opinion I speak it.

I know it seems harsh.
Yet men my age do not know what they want.
So I wait.
I wait for my mate.
One who does not care I am curvy.
Does not care I have a slick mouth.
Does not mind that I daydream.
Will try to understand me not contain me.

Women are gems.
Treat them as so.
They are the queen of an house.
Respect their decision.
A Queen will rule most on her own,
Yet she looks for someone.
To be her King.
