All the flowers bend in the wind

All the flowers bend in the wind

A Poem by Susan Beth Horvath

I walked through the garden gate
Along the uneven stoney path
Passed the roses looking so great
Until Mother nature hisses her wrath

All the flowers bend in the wind
With deep roots so strong
As strong as my broken heart within
I feel her wrath as I sing my song

I sing so loud, all around can hear
My soul's storm blows within
So loud Mother nature would fear
This wrath I no long carry, for it's a sin

I'm a lover of freedom, and think "free" poetry to have a unique charm. I like the mixture of emotions that you make you readers go through. Having a broken heart, but having it strong; having a stormy soul, and yet singing; your poem is full of paradoxical lines that, to me, make it sound special.

The ending is what marked me the most. It shows that those beautifully assorted words are the offsprings of a pure and forgiving soul.

Peace
Dusty

Lines one and two are a good start. I am confused thereafter. In the first stanza Mother Nature has not yet "hissed her wrath". In stanza two she has become wrathful. In stanza three you sing your soul's storm which I think you are saying no linger exists which leads me to believe there should not be a storm in your soul to sing. I think you have made a good start but your message needs clarification. But that's why we work, right?
