Mushroom Government

Mushroom Government

A Poem by Mariana Silva

Do you happen to know how they grow mushrooms? Now apply that to politics..

Take my hand and show me where to go,

Lead me with lies and lies untold.

Show me only what you want me to see

And tell me how it makes me feel.

I'm willing and following you, so,

Drive my life and walk away when it unfolds.

Tell me exactly who I should be

Because, its before you that I kneel.

Abuse my every basic right,

Tell me that I'm not worth saving,

And leave me in misery and suffering

Leave me to clean your irreversible manipulation.

Justice and honor: There aren't reasons for why I fight.

Certainly not for the lives we're 'saving.'

We're no good if we only increase suffering

Amongst so many people of a nation.

Its all those lies untold

That brought us so close to the truth.

Doesn't matter what your reasons were anymore

Because m ushroom government isn't for u.

All along, you should have told the truth.

Love to read and write, so much in fact, there isn't a place where my journal and pen have not followed me because you never know when something will spring forth to be written. Not a prodigy but some.. more..
