His Shadow is Cast

His Shadow is Cast

A Poem by Sorry Infamous

I cannot look at eyes,
yours or his,
so I look at feet
dipped in mud,
The arches broken.

I look for you,
I think of scars,
pink and puckered.
He touches my fingers
and I forget all things

I cannot look at my face
in reflections of metal
but I can feel

the pull of his flesh

like a thick rope, tugging

I look out doorways
his shadow is cast
It is bigger than me
A love so dark against the light
This is more than you.

This is the first piece of yours and I am quite impressed. I found this to be very intriguing, well written, displaying emotion that was not only read, but felt.

"I look out doorways
his shadow is cast
It is bigger than me
A love so dark against the light
This is more than you."

My favorite lines. "His shadow is cast, this is more than you." Such lovely imagery of a shadow of a lover.
