Know

Know

A Poem by Sorry Infamous

The rhythmic rising and falling
Know you are alive
Somewhere in there
And know it can not be the truth
Hearts do not just stop living
Even if stars die in the sky
Snuff out like matches
But never like love
Love is the reflection
Of the sun on the moon

The flutter of dark lashes
Know that you have sight
Even if eyes are closed
And only shadows peek in
Souls do not stop searching
Even if we age a hundred years
And time mocks us like children
But the soul never wanders
It follows a path like a river
And pools in the vast ocean

The most beautiful thing that love
can offer is tomorrow.
Death leaves a shadow,
Broken lives are sometimes irrepairable
but love leaves tomorrow open.
In your date book love is an empty page.
You will live and you will love again.

So beautifully profound... I sensed such a deep peace about this write... the constancy of life and purpose around us.... Thank you for this inspiration that I needed tonight.

If I didn't know any better, I'd say love is harassing you. You seem like you have a lot of passion and your poems portray that in an amazing way. You know how to weave your reader in and out of the text, everything meeting up at the end -- the final point, plea, what have you. Hopefully this harassment isn't around very long and you're able to happily sleep at night and enjoy the rhythmic beating of the heart inside the person your with/love.
