For My Sister

For My Sister

A Poem by Frank Purcell
"

For my sister, who has just had her very first heart-break. I love you so much, so stay strong my angel!

"
I lie in my bed in the next room
I lie here listening to your virgin cry
With the end of your very first love
I know you're sitting there asking God why!?

If only i could tell you my darling sister
How many times I, myself, have asked that question
How many times I've sat and just cried
And asked to be pointed in the right direction

But alas I was never ever answered
And i lived for years without a smile
And i just want to protect your very own
And not let it be destroyed by a world so vile

I wont tell you that life goes on
Because thats what everyone keeps saying
Just take this as a lesson and learn,
Because you're smile is why im still praying!

Your words are true. Love is the best and worst days of a life. Take many chances and pain to know when we find real love. I like the way you told the story in the poem. Thank you for a excellent poem.
