The Ballet Teacher Leaves the Room

The Ballet Teacher Leaves the Room

A Poem by Sofie

without the slightest word to tell us
where to place our feet, we never
knew we could fly in these leotards
and heavens! our voices may escape
our lips, and we laugh

but no more! she trusts us, says Lauren
a tall blond thing with all the sense of
a snapdragon, which leads the girls to ask
what pick of the garden are they?

Wait! Voice! jump back into my throat,
and no more sound please, she trusts us
now, plie, plie, plie

Intriguing and, yes, keep writing and keep the thoughts flowing. Very good!

I'll admit to it, the title got me. I was a former professional ballerina and I used to own a dance studio. Gotta love the kids that have the discipline to keep going when you have to leave the room for a few minutes. Keep writing, just watch your punctuation and capitalization.
