Phantom Lovers

Phantom Lovers

A Poem by SyberRose

The breath of the midnight winds

echo in the starlight,

within the canyon walls

and desert of the night~

The lover she has longed

at last hers to keep

deep within the canyon

eternal wind sweep~

In the cool dark Arizona skies

phantom dust swirls;

two lovers become

natural wonders in disguise~

In the depths of dreams

if you listen very close

You may hear their voices

as mystic wind blows~

Embraced by the stars

ecstasies of voices cry

two spirits making love

deep eternal sighs~

At last she has her love

a dream now come true

never to say goodbye~

Within the Grand Canyon

and the Colorado River Sky.

An interesting poem, not much seems to come to mind as I read this, and perhaps it's because I'm still tired. Regardless, this was a interesting poem, and was much enjoyed.

Likewise. :)
Reminds me of one of our favorite family vacations...
Also feels like an feminine echo to the numerous western books I read growing up...
You really created a solid piece of writing here Rose. I could recommend this poem to anyone who loves creative writing and I know they would enjoy it. Great write!

Thank you very much Quin...and for that lovely review...:)
An interesting write that clearly has two interpretations. One the place the writer is in love with and the other a lover told in metaphors. Enjoyable either way Rose

The geographical references really evoke a feeling of freedom and escape from the world for the two lovers involved. I like the painting that augments the atmosphere.

My pleasure...:)............
This poem makes me want to hop on a plane and go to Arizona! You paint these images so beautifully, Rose.

Love is natural, and wonderful - well said!

The romance in this piece takes a backseat only to the nature you have portrayed - wonderfully penned!
