Terra Cotta Embers

Terra Cotta Embers

A Poem by SyberRose
"

"

The citrus scent of mandarin orange

intoxicates the last days of summer,

and sweet perfume of night blooming jasmine

awakens when the sun goes down~

Corn fields now beneath the autumnal moon

are covered in scarlet and gold,

and the scent of terra cotta embers

wafting within the crispness of the wind~

And as the yellow pendant of the sun

peeks through the scope of the morn,

smoldering leaves brightly shimmer

            like fireflies in the night~

And wild songbirds reverberate

autumns requiem song.

Thank you Rita and for peeking in today...Rose:)
Quite an original way to describe the colour of the leaves, I can inhale the pungency of the autumn season, as well via this supremely written piece, very well done, this is lovely.

Such a vivid palette of colors in this one, Rose. You touched on all the senses.....night blooming jasmine has such a distinct aroma, doesn't it? A wonderful poem of nature. Lydi**

Summer may now have past but Autumn's rich hues and colours are a consolation prize, as the little bird reminds us through his beautiful harmony !

Autumn's requiem bids summer goodbye. A beautiful, bittersweet piece. The last stanza really made the poem for me.
