Misconstrue

You don’t understand,

you’ll never understand.

Always being down,

always being numb.

Having scars to remind you,

of the bad things you’ve done,

of the monster you are,

still deep within.

You will smile,

you will laugh,

and have a good time.

But who you really are,

you’ll always have to hide.

The urges to cry,

and make yourself bleed,

they’ll never go away,

no matter the life that you lead.

You’ll never understand,

unless it happens to you,

but even if so,

you still have no clue.
