Karma's Fire

Karma's Fire

A Poem by Sylvia Ransom

Come on, come on,
You've gotta know what you're doing,
The way you're playing mind games,
Have me wondering,
Confused.

I've gotta, gotta break away,
Break the ties,
Clear my head,
Lose my mind.

You've tangled me up in your webs,
I want nothing to do with,
I just want a place to call home,
And someone to run to.

You tempted me with soft words,
Sweet promises,
I believed you'd be the one to hold me,
The one to guide me,
But you lied through your teeth,
And I'll forever remember that grin,
As you promised you'd never hurt me again.

Just remember I'll be back,
But not to run into your arms,
I'll be back for revenge,
But you'll be under my spell,
Karma's a b***h and she taught me well.

It's mind over matter,
Your words don't matter,
I've heard your excuses before,
Now we're going to play by my rules,
You'll never know what hit you,
When you find yourself lying on the floor.

Remember, oh remember,
All the games you love to play,
My heart isn't for your personal game,
But you started the fire,
So now make way or be burned by the flames.

Enjoyable....much so. Favorite line: "Karma's a b***h and she taught me well." I did feel a loss of "flow" in the lower stanza compared to your first three. All in all, good job
