Lizard King

Lizard King

A Poem by Emily Irene.
"

Inspired by The Doors. February 2009.

"

Smelling of cigarettes and vodka,
she sits on the edge of her bed,
staring into space,
listening to the Lizard King do his thing.
With that soulful voice
bouncing off her walls,
she thinks of promises,
and how very hard they are to hold tight.
