Reflecting

Reflecting

A Story by T
"

Just things I noticed one evening last june....

"

On the man's T-shirt he had written "WILL WORK FOR HOME"
walking across the street from several men in robes,
coming from the church congratulating each other....

In the park there were games of baseball and volleyball,
gatherings of people
and then there were those like me that walked alone in solitude
not lonely per se, at least not me
just reflecting.

The little boy said, "watch me" and rode passed me several times
looking for my attention
and stopping to talk, we listened to the chatter of a squirrel
and I told him I hoped he was having fun.

he was, simply, having fun
and I was simply walking alone, reflecting

It's always a pleasant experience to just stop and observe things. We all need to do it some time. This has a nice reminiscent feeling about it. Slow paced, relaxed. It matches the tone you are telling us about. Good write.
