Amnesia

Amnesia

A Poem by Terrence Chang
"

The forgotten ones

"
When I wake up
My memories all gone
Dead inside with no retain
All hope is indeed in vain
Remembering none of what is done
All seem to be an April fools day
Saddest to say
Who came into my life
And who has passed away
Carry me in the wind's home
For I don't know my way
I don't know when flowers will bloom
No memories being unsealed
As faces are decapitated
I know not who is my friend
Nor when my foe will slay
My tears are meaningless to cry
For I know not to whom may I cry
Characteristics is just an adoption
So as to whom inspired me the most
But my memories detested my actions
To whom I can never recall
All has faded away
Except my hunger to remember
The fireflies never ignited the memories
The memories that I truly call home

Thank you soo much James. No one should have such experience and pain.
and those memories get further and further away from the reality of what we are now...and if we can't recall, we fall prey to those moody times and slipping tears...

faces of the past, places of the past...a fogged up memory...a photo out of focus.

well said here.

Thank you soo much Jacob for you kind and generous review
Chang: You are so talented!!!! This sounds like complete desolation: nothingness; only wishing to forget the past with no chance of a future. Everyday is April Fools Day says it all: Great Line with many others. Dead inside with no retain - All hope is indeed in vain and I LOVE my hunger to remember. Socrates grew up observing his mother, a mid-wife, bringing new life into this world. I found myself wondering what this character saw as well; bringing me to your your inference: Characteristics is just an adoption
So as to whom inspired me the most. Everything you write so eloquently is the truth. Amnesia is a brilliant title...some memories are repressed so deep down we wish not to remember. This poem is uplifting. I dare anyone on a pity party to read it, and not think they are blessed in some way. Very powerful. Thank you so very much. Dale
