As Above, So Below

Stars above, and stars below
Stars shining bright
Tiny pricks of light
Upon the black of darkest night;
As above, so below.

Stars above, and stars below
Gems in Hercules' helmet
Like jewels strewn on jet-black velvet
They hail me, "Stranger, well met!"
As above, so below.

Stars above, and stars below
The stars are there to test us;
Are they the smiles of our ancestors
Or the mirth in eyes of jesters?
They blink, stupidly, "We don't know!"
As above, so below.
