Through the darkness

I see him

Drawing me nearer

A beacon

Dazzling

Like sunlight on a cloudless day

 

Hazel pools

Deep and hypnotic

Steal my gaze

Chocolate tones

Strong and persuasive

Caress my brain

 

I feel myself

Soaring

Playing with fire

Daring

Hoping

Throwing caution to the winds as I wheel in the sky

 

I could crash

Burn

In the depths of rejection

But you only live once

I hear myself say

 

So I risk it

I chance it

I burn and I love it

 

And I float

High

On the thrill of achievement

Still gently smoking

From touching the sun
