Wild Soul

There are deserts that should never be crossed.

There are mountains that should never be climbed.

There are rivers that should never be channeled.

There are trees that should never be chopped down.

There are pastures that should never be cut.

There are lions that should never be tamed.

And there are horses that should never be ridden.

There are eagles whose wings should never be clipped.

There are fires that should never be extinguished.

There are storms that should never be chased.

There is lightning that should never be harnessed.

There are waves that should never be surfed.

There are seas that should never be sailed.

And there are spirits that should never be broken.

There are spirits that cannot be broken.

They burn with an unquenchable passion and yearn for life and freedom.

On wings like the eagle they soar through the sky with passion and grace,

They fight for what is right with a spirit like a stallion,

And with the heart of a lion they roar into the darkness and the shadows must flee.

The earth may tremble,

The sword may shatter,

The ocean may rage,

And the sky may crack,

But the spirit of the true and free and wild-hearted will never be broken.

Just as the wolf sings to silver moon the wild will cry out into the night to the stars and rejoice.

And in reply the stars dance with them in delight, awakening forgotten dreams and remembering lost souls.

Thunder beats against the clouds and lightning cracks the sky in two,

Just as the hooves of a horse beat against the ground and the fire in their souls flash with ardor.

The lion roars into the shadows and the darkness must flee,

Just as the sun rises the night must take flight and escape to the dark from whence it came.

Dark is powerful,

It is strong.

But where there is darkness there is light.

The light shines through the dark,

Piercing it like a sword plunging into the heart of a demon.

And the wild and free rejoice with their untamed song

As the stars shimmer and dance in unison in an array of dappled dreams,

Like waves cresting over the silver core moon and crashing against the rocks with thunderous and melodious ecstasy.

There are deserts,

There are seas,

There are mountains, and rivers, and trees and pastures.

There are lions and horses and eagles,

And there are fires and storms and lightning and waves.

They are mighty,

But the beating thunder of a wild soul’s heart roars into the darkness

And pierces it with a shining sword of glimmering fervor and burning flame that cannot be extinguished.

For the soul of a true wild soul is mightier than the shadows and beats harder than the thunder in the sky.

It cannot be broken.

But instead gallops into the night.

And just as the wolf sings to silver moon the wild will cry out into the night to the stars and rejoice.

And in reply the stars dance with them in delight, awakening forgotten dreams and remembering lost souls.

For this is the way of the Wild Soul,

And it will not and cannot be broken.
