Chapter 2:

*Jack's Father P.O.V*

"Jackson, wake up now I have some great news!" I knocked on his door loud.

"What news?" Jackson yawned. "Just come and I'll tell you and Samantha you as well!" I told my wife and son.

*Jack P.O.V*

I changed into my brown quilt and went downstairs with my mother who was smiling like something special happened. As I headed downstairs there was a bag of kiplings and a basket of food prepared on the supper table. Then my father spoke.

"Jackson Overland you are betrothed to (Name)(LastName)!" My father said happily.

My eyes widen in shock "Is the girl young, and if she is, how old is she?" I questioned my father. "Yes and she's 8, soon to become 9." There was silence and I left the house and headed to the lake where the birds chirped, the wind whistle smooth in my ear and the grass was soft and green while the water was still.Then I saw a little girl with long black hair to her waist and dark brown eyes smelling the flowers.

"Hey You!" I called out to her and she got startled and ran away.

It didn't bother me much, I was betrothed the only thing in my mind was Marissa. If she's alright and my future wife, thinking if I'll ever become like the men in my town. I sat on top of a rock, putting my feet into the warm water while staring at the skies. Then a rock hit my head and I looked around to see who it was but there was no one.

"Hey, I just realised i never kissed any girl before just maybe my first kiss wasnt for Marissa, Nah I'm being silly, well who knows!" I laughed. 

 

Guess I better head home, but wait I have to talk to my mother and father. I was running home on my way I bumped into someone and it was the little girl carry something. The woodsman were chasing her. So I climbed up a tree and jumped on the roofs, following them till I saw her cornered. I was looking for something I can throw at the men. I found a bucket of manure and threw it at them, the little girl laughed and so did I then they saw me.

"Get them both!" yelled one of the woodsmen.

Just when the girl had a chance to run I grabbed her from above and placed her on my back. I yelled "Hold on!" She wrapped her arms around my neck and I ran on the rooftops. The woodsmen tried to catch up but some fell. Then we were trapped till I jumped off into a haystack. 

"Do you see them?" said one woodsman,

"No, it's impossible to survive that jump." another spoke.

"Arghh, let's go their gone and that's that! said the leader of the woodsmen.

As I got up I shook the hay off my hair and someone punched me on the back and it was the little girl. "OW what was that for?" she didn't reply and ran away, I followed but she disappeared. So I forgot about her and headed home.

*Jack's Father P.O.V*

I saw Jackson come in the house covered in hay and dirtied the entrance. His mother yelling at him while he looked away, then he came towards me.

"Father why is there a bag of kiplings and basket of food on the supper table?" he asked me.

"It's for you and your wife when you leave tomorrow, sleep well tonight because it's your last night here." I said.

Jackson sighed as if he was sad about leaving which made me full of joy seeing him be miserable. Prepare to suffer my son!
