I Can't Wait

I Can't Wait

A Poem by Tai-San

I Can’t Wait
I’m sitting right here, waiting for it.
Waiting for the time.
And the time is soon.
Soon I will be gone,
And my life shall restart again.
Being in the new country will be a whole new experience,
And I can’t wait.
He said it would be a big adjustment,
But I just sighed and said it wasn’t so,
That I would rather move far away from everyone and everything that has hurt me,
Rather than stay here and be hurt more.
I can’t wait.
There will be new people,
Such as Nils,
 But I’m okay with that.
New people means new beginnings,
And that’s one thing I want.
I can’t wait.
A whole new language to study,
Which is one thing I like.
I treat studying languages like a hobby,
And this one is brand new.
I can’t wait.
Being looked over by my big brothers’ watchful eye,
Nothing will be able to harm me any longer.
He will protect me,
No matter what.
With him near my side,
I’m invincible.
I can’t wait.
Leaving America behind,
 All my troubles,
All my pain,
Moving forward.
I just can’t wait.
