The Exploitation of an Innocent Heart

 This is a 53 word short-story that I had submitted for a competition. 
My breaths grew heavier as we grew closer, my eyes shut further as we touched one another; but yet, my heart grew heavier the more often we saw one another. Did I love her? Certainly not, I was only trying to patch a marred heart. But I suppose that’s the cycle of love.
