Lost (in) Her Mind

Lost (in) Her Mind

A Poem by Areya Valena
"

A dream I had, I don't believe the ending though so don't worry.

"
The walls thump with a steady beat.

Thump. Thump. Thump.

You can't get out... Admit defeat.

I'm too scared to breathe.

The floor is black, but the walls glow.

Hum...humm...hummm

A melodic beating drones.

Where am I?

Your heart...
A bottomless black pit??

No, broken... broken... crashed.

Too broken to fix?!

Impossible. Death, you did this yourself.

But how-- how?

You have nothing to give left...

But I love him, I love them...
what's the risk?

Sleep now, rest, I'm ending this.

Not right. Not right!
My heart is light, so very bright!!

So wrong, so wrong!
You fought for too long...

Thump.thumpthumpthumpthumpthump!!!
It hurts...
Beating too, way too... fast!

Hush now, hush now.
Calm down...
It'll all be over,
Don't you make a sound..

Hurt..ing.. Hurting... I want... cry.
Sadness. sadness... I want... die.
SCREAMING! Loud! Its so loud!!!

This is your mind..

TOO MUCH TOO MUCH!! let me out...

It'll be over in time.

silence.... silence... a light?
Where am I now?

Back, back to real life...

Blood! blood is everywhere, but how!?

I told you it would be over soon.
I would fix everything,
keep it in tune...
Oh! don't touch them, their still open wounds...

My wrists, my wrists,... soo much blood,

Trust me,
Trust me,
Death is better than love.

Death is better than love...

Hmph...I guess I like it. I like the confusion it induces. Makes my head spin like I'm living the moment. Its really artistic of you and I think you've grown with your writing. Best piece by far :).

I don't understand why people feel they have to choose between Love and Death. This a look at a serreal out of body experence that can happen in a car crash of a robbery gone wrong. It does flow and the image is strong yet the topic is dark.

You know those movies, or t.v. shows, where the woman stares in the mirror crying and she reaches for the scissors, and you think; "Oh my God! What is she going to do?" Then, they show her chopping he.. more..
