A Failure's Eulogy (1)

A Failure's Eulogy (1)

A Poem by Areya Valena
"

Part One. To a Three Part Poem

"
There's two people in the pews.
The flowers are all cheap, and fake.
The music is nonexistent.

Today we come together to mourn the life of a beloved failure. I'd like to thank everyone for coming today, even though I know we all had better things to do. We shall not cry for the failure that was lost, because tears are just too much sadness and pain for someone who's done nothing but cause us all pain also. Instead we will try to move on past the mistakes she made constantly, the pain she's caused deliberately, the words she spoke. annoyingly. We will try to put this all behind us as we close the casket on something that has been a burden for much too long. The only thing we could be happy about is today. Today we say our final goodbye's and close the casket on our pain forever.
The sun is dim.
The church is smelly.
The casket has splinters.
The pillow is hard.

So, everyone come up and say your final goodbye's, for a failure is leaving this world and our lives. It's all over now, everyone. It's all over.

The people are smiling.
The priest is happy.
They are dressed in jeans.
And rushing to end this.

Goodbye, sweet failure.

The lid is thin plywood.
Sawdust falls into my eyes.
I cannot open my mouth.
To tell them I'm still alive.
They are all so happy.
To see a failure die.
