This Place

This Place

A Poem by Areya Valena
"

- I cannot wait to get away from the horrible place I've built.

"
This place.
It slowly shatters me,
making such small pieces,
I'm shaking to much to pick them up.
My fingers are numb,
from the fists I've held,
the hits I've made,
the building I've done,
to these cracked walls around me.
This place.
Wants to keep me here,
to hold me hostage of anything...
better;
different.
And I'm clawing my way up,
breaking my way out,
with bleeding fingers.
That built this place,
that cursed this place,
that made this place...
So haunted,
So broken
So damned.
And this place!
Is so familiar it scares me!
Is so quiet it tears me!
So open it bares me!
I want out...
I want out of this place!

It is hard to judge this write for poetic response. However it does move me that maybe someone is in trouble and needs a way out. I like compact lines but this work could use some editing to bring some of the lines together and have as much if not more emotion than the scheme that you used. Great read.
