Sovereign Of My Soul

Sovereign Of My Soul

A Poem by Tash Hill
"

With diamond on cheek and rose against lip, I leave in her care this sinking ship.

"

Sovereign of my soul and captain of my core,

she clutches me tight as I drift far from shore.

With diamond on cheek and rose against lip,

I leave in her care this sinking ship.

She takes into her, all that is me,

as I crumble and sink into this everlasting sea.

Anchored within her heart, I breathe my last breath,

as I drift upon her Siren’s song, right into death.

No one but she, shall dive down to find

any of the treasures that I have left behind.

For I am ghost of the sea, the phantom wreck,

with broken bones cast across the deck.

I am wave and wind and sand and Sound,

I am Triton king who shall remain forever uncrowned.

She is heart of the storm and soul of the sky,

Sentinel and savior to all those who must die.

This was a good piece. You captured the ship metaphor effectively, the flow was solid, and the rhyming was tasteful. Nice.

All word so nice. I like it

I love the theme of love that keeps tying back to the sea. Do you know much of Greek mythology? This reminds me of the Goddess Aphrodite. A beautiful poem. Keep up the great work!

Love how you have a reoccurring theme of the sea involved. The flow and content are beautiful. I really enjoyed reading this :)

Love this mythic part... wondering how the story will be.

where i live this would be a song to Aphrodite, its a love story to a beautiful maiden of the waves, at least that's what i see, it is an outstanding poem of immense beauty, thank you Tash :)
