A Poem by Taunt-gently

I’ve become awkward in any unwavering gaze
little birds shatter in my heart and tummy
tiny bones poke in all sharp.

Can you see me like a little child crying
when a storybook ends and lights go dim?

What if I drown in something thicker than water
before my eyes are ready to close asleep?
What if you let go of my wandering lost hand
    when I do?

Soft and meloncholy but decidedly NOT melodramatic. I liked this.
