Paranoia

Paranoia

A Poem by Tracie D'Angelo
"

Written 7 December 1990

"

They see

Those eyes

It smirks

That mouth

At me

With idle gestures they know

Who I am, where I live

I could scream

to amuse them

Make them succeed in their torment

Yet I flounder in the sea of beings

And stroke the flames of fear

Leave me, leave me, leave me

I can’t believe

I won’t believe

I’m safe

I love the bit 'I can't believe... I won't believe'. That was the best bit!
