Remember Me

Remember Me

A Poem by Tracie D'Angelo
"

Written 20 December 1990

"

The tree

It stood

In the corner of the home

The lights

They glistened

Like the tears in their eyes

And they won’t see Christmas

Those who’ve passed on

And they won’t rip the paper

Off many tiny boxes

But they can smile

In the sun

And they can sigh

In a drift of snow

I remember

Forgotten ones

And my tears echo the pain

I have but one gift for you

The place inside my heart

This is also a really nice poem. I feel a bit like yopu were talking about homeless people. Am I right?
