Suzette's Castle

Suzette's Castle

A Poem by Tracie D'Angelo
"

Written 10 March 1991

Castle chambers Suzette

Is that where you think you live?

Then throw down your hair against the wall

And try to learn to forgive

The angels dressed in black

Were illusions in your lonely mind

Come down from the tower Suzette

You will know in time

Mother was born to a Queen on a hill

And father was born to a poor man

Castle chambers you can’t get out

Were only built by Suzette’s hand

All your tears fall in mindless moats

And the breeze carries away your sigh

Suzette your castle will fall in heaps

Before you stand on your feet and try
