What is Peace to Me?

The question was asked of my students: What is Peace? They will write a poem about it and here was my go at it.

Poem 1:

Letting go of that anger

Is peace

A tree cries when it lets go

Of the leaf

Blowing away in the breeze

But the tree is free and serene

Letting go of anger is peace

Poem 2:

Peace is surrendering

Up giving

let going

Ripped inside surviving

Piece by piece

Gluing, sticking 

pieces put together 

Is peace

Poem 3: 

Peace is feeling safe

No one laughing

Mocking, humiliating

No one hurting

No fearing

safe
