Not Very Different

Not Very Different

A Poem by T. Edana Talbott

You walk and talk like you’re oh-so bad,
Like you have no heart,
Pretending you’re not sad.

Well I see inside,
I see everything,
You can’t hide.

You’re afraid your heart will break,
So you hide your tears and all your fears.

You probably cry at night.
You can’t seem to find the light.

You crack your jokes,
Others’ feelings you poke until they burst,
Really though, it’s love you thirst.

You’re afraid your heart will break,
So you hide your tears and all your fears.

You probably cry at night.
You can’t seem to find the light.

I must admit we’re not very different.

Broken hearts we seem to share.
Will they stay cracked forever?
Maybe they can be repaired.
Maybe we can make it together.
