Finding Love Is Like Eating A Box of Chocolates

Finding Love Is Like Eating A Box of Chocolates

A Poem by T. Edana Talbott

Letting go takes effort.
It takes a lot of time,
Whether or not you realize that this just isn’t right.

Maybe it was your partner,
Who didn’t have the time.
Or maybe he or she cheated,
And spat a million lies.

Or maybe it was you,
Who acted like a fool.
You might’ve been as shallow,
As that of a child’s pool.

It could’ve been all the above,
That ended your so-called “love.”

Finding love is like eating a box of chocolates.

People are the candies,
Horrid or dandy.

Take a bite out of each,
Until you find the most wonderful sweet.

It may take a while,
But you’ll find the one that makes you smile.

Letting go isn’t easy, as I said before,
I should know.
But finding love is harder.

You wonder, "Who's my one?"
And that’s what makes it fun!

You’ll be all the more happy,
When you find your true love,
Your special candy.
