Blue and Gold

Blue and Gold

A Poem by T. Edana Talbott

A father, blue and gold.

A soul, both calm and bold.

A fighter, working to the bone.

A genius, though you may not know.

A hero, with a heart that glows,

Blue and gold, blue and gold.

An angel, tough and  jolly.

A savior, when my mind was foggy.

A spirit, shining shades so blinding,

Blue and gold, blue and gold.

My love for you as true and old,

As the beautiful colors

Blue and Gold.

This poem was written as a Christmas (2014) present for my father - I wanted to express in words how much he meant to me and how much I appreciate all he is and all he's done in my life. The "blue and gold" references his favorite football team, the Chargers. He truly is one of my heroes.
