Dear Friends...

Dear Friends...

A Poem by T. Edana Talbott

Deep in thought, my tears I’ve fought.
I hear of your grand escapades and fear for my memory.

Foolish I am, to feel so damned.
Your heart is mine, as mine is yours.

My soul is shaped, in part, by you -
Your glow fires my hope.

Weeping and taught, to never lose faith
I fear I will be full of hate,
As I hear wretched thoughts in my brain…

But saved, I am,
By thoughts of you.

Your smiles are mine, as mine are yours.
Keep me close and always know
I love your company and your sweet dispositions.

Silly I am, to feel so sad.
But your tears are mine, as mine are yours

The pain is shared, each of us care

My friends, my water and also my blood…
You quench my thirst for love.

You love me for reasons I know not of.

Dear friends, my friends,
Thank you for cherishing me as well as my sins.
True hearts like you are not just “friends”
But more like kin.
