"I'm Fine."

"I'm Fine."

A Poem by T. Edana Talbott

"I'm fine,” - I say it all the time.

“I’m fine,” - a small phrase...

But the biggest lie.

“I’m fine,” - maybe, in due time.

“I’m fine,” - I said with shame...

As if it were a crime.

“I’m fine,”  - I’ll say it ‘till I die.

“I’m fine,” - a false phrase...

A simple warning sign.

“I’m fine,” - I say, so I don’t cry.

"I’m fine,” - said so lamely...

I no longer wish to try,

To play this game

To lie each day

To act as if I’m fine.

It seems you another person wearing a mask and trying act out each day. Good verse, angsty and dark but kind of liberating towards the end. Keep sharing :)
