I've Got Someone Else ( And So Do You)

I've Got Someone Else ( And So Do You)

A Poem by T. Edana Talbott

You’re sitting there,

And I’m sitting here,

I think we’re losing it,

We’re losing this, I fear.

I used to long to be yours,

Now I just can’t wait,

‘Till you walk out the door,

So I can breathe, I can breathe…

Tell me, do you feel the same way,

Towards me?

‘Cause I’ve got someone else,

On my mind, on my mind,

And you’ve got another lover,

In your eyes, in your eyes.

You try and hold my hand,

But it doesn’t feel quite right,

You try to kiss me,

But your lips don’t fit my mouth,

Quite right.

Is it alright,

If I say goodnight, say goodbye,

To a love that used to be,

But’s gone out of sight?

‘Cause I’ve got someone else,

On my mind, on my mind,

And you’ve got another lover,

In your eyes, in your eyes.

And it’s just far from right,

To keep this going,

The spark is out,

No longer glowing.

I used to watch you for hours,

With a smile on my face,

Now I hear your laugh,

And I wanna escape

To that someone else,

On my mind, on my mind,

Go find that lover,

In your eyes, in your eyes.
