Rainbow Moon

Rainbow Moon

A Poem by T. Edana Talbott

There’s a rainbow in the sky tonight,

Cloaking the beauty of the moonlight,

We forgot what it looks like,

The stars aren’t even in sight.

Everyone’s stopped praying,

Whispers claim it’s a gift from God,

But I start to wonder if it’s the Devil’s plot,

To lull us into Hell to rot.

There’s a rainbow shielding the moon, tonight,

It’s a wonder, but it doesn’t look quite right,

We forgot what it was to love,

The moon and the stars from above.

It’s touching the sea’s surface,

And the people say it’s God’s work,

But I fear Satan’s furnace.

The rainbow ate the moon tonight,

It’s bleeding red and blue and green,

Instead of white.

The stars have left to hide,

They fear this abnormal sight,

But everyone just points and smiles,

I give this show,

Just a little while.

Yes it's so easy to fall prey the dark side, just what some want. But we're much better than that, history tells you so.
