Remember Me

Prose

"Remember me?" I ask, gazing up at her from where I lie on the bed.
She nods, gazing back down at me.
I smile then and her face mirrors mine, a smile warm like sunshine. 
Eyes that shine with tenderness, kindness, compassion and love.
I could lose myself in those eyes, live in them forever.
She leans down and caresses my lips with hers.

Live for the moment and don't push too far.
I can't pull her in closer, she hates to feel trapped
Instead I say, "I love you baby"
She smiles.
"I love you too" she says.
Then gets up and walks away.

I sigh, even though I know she'll be back
She will remember me.
