A Poem by Tenebrousoul
"

Sadness. Loss. Regret. Stumbling ahead, regardless.

"
I wish I could've been there for you...
I'm sorry for what went wrong.
I'm glad you're moving on.
You deserve a house built on more than shifting sands.

I hope that only greatness follows you around.
I hope you find a way to keep from down.
I hope you will find the prince charming you deserve,
Who can give you everything I couldn't.

Another mistake under my belt,
Another victim to my crimes.
Another heart broken because I'm sick as hell,
Another period of chaotic times.

I'm moving on as well,
It's time to say good bye.
I promise to think of you fondly,
Silent revelry for days gone by.

I know what I've done,
I've said what I've said.
I stand behind all,
I know I'm better off dead.

But step by step,
and day by day,
I move ever forward,
Taking everything come what may.

The eyes of a broken angel
have fallen on one such as unworthy as me.
The whispers of this crazy making
wonder making chance to set this wounded heart free.

"You deserve a house built on more than shifting sands"
That is beautiful; pulled me in right away
This reminds me of a Shel Silverstein poem called "I can't touch the Sun"
Nicely done

The feeling that comes from knowing you hurt someone you love is so terrible. Once again, I'm sorry if you've felt this way. This is such an emotional poem. The last stanza is very good. I also agree with everything said in the previous review. :3

You somehow wove a thin (but prominent) thread of hope throughout a rather morose poem. Quite impressive. The poem has a certain intricacy to it that I really enjoyed.

I adore the image of a house built of "shifting sands". That's incredible!
