This weight on my chest,

making it harder to breathe,

The weight of you,

crushing down around me

I can't breathe when you're around,

You are just too much to bear.

You suffocate me, 

crushing this life right out of me.

Now we both know what it's like to be let down.

Drowning to the depths below

My lungs burning for air,

Crushed is all I am

You think you're smarter than me?

You think that you've won this game?

I gained 40 pounds because of you!

Gave away my dreams, too

I didn't need you then,

I damn sure don't need you now.

You were holding me back.

I'm no longer crushed under the weight of you.

I love the title; and the repetition of the word "crush" -- such a concept to capture and you did a really nice job doing so

Towards the end you can feel the climax; the emotions becoming more and more uncontrolled ; it draws a strong parallel to the concept of this crushing feeling.

I love this. The mind acknowledging the lover was toxic, but the heart still crushed, a little, still healing. God. that's a lousy in-between, isn't it? You bared your heart in a glistening, perfect package. Great write!
