Last goodbye

Last goodbye

A Poem by Terra Bendite

A simple goodbye
Could feel like a stab at the heart
But what if it was a final goodbye?
It wouldn't be a stab at the heart
The heart would be gone completely
Tears would overflow the void
But it wouldn't help
Would you mourn over me?
Would you care?
Would you notice me gone?
The never ending questions of how the mind works
Of how it ignores obvious facts of life,
The feelings of others,
The truth of lies
If I was still here would you tell me your feelings
Your deepest regrets If you had one more chance to change anything
Would you change anything about us?
Would this be our final goodbye
Or did it already happen
Goodbyes could actually mean goodbye one day
Wonders of what could of been if that goodbye wasn't the final goodbye
