PARTY TRICK

PARTY TRICK

A Poem by Terry Collett
"

MUSIC AND WHISKEY AND HAPPINESS

"

I am listening
to Steve Harley
& The Cockney Rebel

because it makes
me smile
(drinking whiskey

may also
have contributed.)
Jamesons

is the best,
although I’m not
going to attempt

to down it
in one
like I did

with the bottle
of Baileys,
which I now

consider
my
party trick.

This makes me immeasurably sad. I'm a father of sons too, and I can barely imagine the devastation of such a loss. There's a life and an attitude captured in these few short lines. Thank you for sharing it.
