TWO WORLDS 1973

TWO WORLDS 1973

A Poem by Terry Collett
"

A MAN AND WOMAN IN PARIS IN 1973 AND PHILOSOPHICAL DEBATE AND SEX

"

Each of us
Sonya said
look outward

and inward
and each one
of us see

ourselves as
the center
of the world

but we aren't
I reply
we're just part

of a huge
unfolding
sad drama

she sipped from
her white wine
her blue eyes

gazing cool
we can see
only from

our own eyes
our own minds
we are each

one of us
the center
our own worlds

and when we
die our world
dies with us

she informed
I study
her tall slim

sexiness
the blue eyes
the blonde hair

Danish girl
with coolness
sipping wine

we lay there
on the bed
in our room

in Paris
both naked
I sipped beer

ice cold
from the fridge
what about

making love
I asked her
before both

of our worlds
cease to be?
OK then

she uttered
but first I
must go pee.
