Somewhere Out There.

Somewhere Out There.

A Poem by Terry Collett

Somewhere out there is the end of our time,

the closing down of the struggling life,

the sacrificing deeds behind us now,

the enthusiasm of our youth gone,

just the flickering candle of our days

nearing their end, and all prayers said and done.

Waiting in the shadows death awaits us;

but looking windward see the setting sun,

feel still its warmth upon our aging skin,

bringing memories to mind of spent youth,

hours and days in idle pleasures

or worthless gossip spent like small treasures,

laughter echoing the dark corridors

of our minds, and we ships, stuck on cold shores.
